Sweater weather is in full effect here in Vancouver!
I’ve seen plenty of stylish ladies strolling the streets in their fall clothes, but I’ve also witnessed a few tragic ensembles. I’ll admit, in the past, my sweater game has not been so strong! It is all about picking the right neckline, fit, and accessories to bring the whole outfit together. Yoins.com has tons of stylish ladies sweaters online and I’ve partnered with them to show you how to style your sweaters so you stay cozy and chic, all fall long.
Off The Shoulder
Showing off your décolleté is a great way to reveal a little skin while still adhering to the cold weather standards. Date night with bae? If you’re going out for dinner, a fitted sweater, cute mini skirt, and simple accessories are perfect for a casual look. If you’re having a movie night at home and want to be super comfy, an oversized sweater and leggings will do.
This style can be tricky; you don’t want to look like you’ve borrowed something from your grandpa’s closet! The key here is to opt for bottoms that show off your figure, so you don’t get lost in the fabric. Distressed skinny jeans are a good option. If you’re petite, you might be able to wear an oversized sweater as a dress. The ankle booties shown below are super cute, but you could also wear thigh-high boots if the weather calls for a bit more coverage.
When I need a quick and easy outfit so I can get out the door (or if I’m feeling particularly lazy ;)), I always reach for a sweater that has a little extra something. That way I can keep the rest of the look minimal with few or no accessories. Zippers, laces, or a choker always makes a classic knit way more interesting.
