This is officially the first post in my Twelve Dates of Christmas series! I’ll be giving you the scoop on all the best holiday activities in Vancouver that are perfect for date night.
Date #1: The Vancouver Christmas Market
The Vancouver Christmas Market is at Jack Poole Plaza. This is a super affordable date; admission is just $10! Inside you’ll find live music, a carousel, and over 75 different vendors.
Christmas Markets are a German tradition, so there is no lack of German candy, waffles, bratwurst, and of course, schnitzel! You can sip on spiked hot chocolate, beer, or mulled wine while wondering around. Okanogan Spirits and Wild Goose Winery had a tasting tent which was quite fun. You know I’m always here for the vino. Always 😉.
You’ll find everything from ugly Christmas sweaters and ornaments, to beer steins and Herrnhuter stars. One vendor that caught my eye was Alma Knitwear; this Canadian brand has such gorgeous hats and scarves.
Pics or it didn’t happen, am I right? There is an adorable sleigh which makes for a super cute photo. If you want to go all out you can pop over to the photo booth to snap some pics with Santa.
Yes I’m a grown woman, but obvi it was necessary to ride the carousel! It was quite chilly and I was so happy I decided to wear this knit headband (similar), I love that it keeps my ears warm and won’t completely ruin my hair. This Burberry peacoat (affordable here and here) is my winter go-to, but I put on a fur vest (exact, affordable here and here) underneath to stay extra cozy.
