For Valentine’s Day, my boyfriend and I decided to escape the city for a couple of days of relaxation in Tofino. Here are a few of the highlights of our trip!
On the way to Tofino, we decided to do a bit of exploring! Being outside in nature were a big part of both mine and Cody’s upbringing so naturally we were both really relaxed, and felt very at peace by the lake.
Our room at The Wickaninnish Inn had the most GORGEOUS view of the rainforest and ocean, so we decided to take a bubble bath and enjoy the view… And some wine, obvi ;)!
That evening we had dinner at Wolf In The Fog, the food, cocktails, and service was incredible. The chef even prepared us a special dish to cater to my food allergies (gluten and dairy). Most of their ingredients are harvested/foraged locally in BC, so expect full blown West Coast vibes from this place. Their whole menu is to die for, but there is one thing you must try, and it’s the potato crusted oyster.
We started the day off right with breakfast in bed, a yoga class, and some spa treatments! The spa was beautiful, the reciptionists were kind, and our spa therapists were lovely (personality wise lol). But full disclosure, I was very disappointed when it came to our spa treatments. I am a certified esthetician/spa therapist, so I’m a bit of a stickler….But even Cody noticed these things!
“Rejuvenate with stunning Rainforest views while enjoying a jetted hydrotherapy soak” was how the “Double Soaker Jet Tub” was described… But in fact, it was in the bathroom attached to the yoga studio. The room we were staying in had the same bath (minus the jets) with a WAY nicer view. In our other treatment, both of our spa therapists were constantly losing contact during both the massage and facial. Keeping contact is KEY for ultimate relaxation! During the facial portion they applied products in the wrong direction (You want to rub the product circling upwards to lift the skin, downwards will promote skin sagging/wrinkles) Also, they never asked us about any allergies to products/ingredients! Without asking these pertinent questions things can go horribly wrong.
After our time at the spa, we headed out to the beach to enjoy some champagne in the sunshine against the sound of the waves. Dreamy right?
We took a walk through Tofino on our last day and checked out the local cafes and shops. One that really stood out to me was this adorable women’s boutique called “Habit.” This shop had so many adorable sweaters, jeans, and accessories! I didn’t have enough time to try anything on, but there were some super cute pieces from Dex, Matt N Nat and AG Denim calling my name!
We had such an amazing time and I would highly recommend taking a trip out to Tofino! Where did you take your last vacay? Let me know in the comments below!
